california trip (august)

It started out by me wanting to ride the train somewhere. I looked on the internet to see where the train goes. I found that it goes to Reno but I didn't want to go on vaction there. It also goes to Canada, that would be kinda cool but too much money. So we decided to go to San Francisco, but when we went to book our tickets it was going to be more money then we thought and it was cheaper to just rent a car and drive. So that is what we did. Our good friends Brad & Stephanie came with us. (the picture is us at the salt flats)
It was a 13 hour drive to my cousins house in Los Altos (which in only 45 min away from San Fran). They were so so nice to let us stay there for the week. We drove all day Saturday to get there and on Sunday we relaxed and went to church with my cousins and aunt. After that drive we needed a day to rest for our busy tourist week ahead.
We fell in love with the city, it was so green and the houses their are big & beauiful. If I win some tv show and get lots of money I just might live there.
On Monday we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
The jellyfish we awesome. We even got in at half price, I love discounts.

month of july part 2

my family came up for their summer vaction and we went and got sushi
this is my second favortie place in slc to get sushi

the next day we went to my work party at lagoon

it was nice just to sit and watch the kids go on the rides. i was very proud of my nephew michael (5yrs) that went on the upside down coaster with me.

the next day we all went to the zoo. i love when my family comes to visit me. we look forward to it whenever that can make it up.

month of july

Modeling my patriotic flower The dirt isn't all that great but this is what it looked like when we were walking over to watch the fireworks. so pretty!!
sooooo windy we weren't sure that we were even going to do the fireworks. and then when they did it was only about 8 minutes.
matt didn't mind at all. he was just ready to go home and get to bed.
i was playing with the panoramic setting on my camera and this is our backyard. umm... the tree is really wider but oops i guess i'll need to practice that setting more.

the month of june

The beginning of June Matt and I went for a drive/off roading near Utah Lake. We live right next to it but had never dipped our toes in it. We skipped rocks until we decided it wasn't a good idea because people were fishing right next to us. (oops sorry people)
Matt started a garden with strawberries, cucumbers, radishes, carrots, tomatoes and peas. Its just a small garden for now but he wanted to see what would grow so next year we can make it even bigger.
I made bows for the month of July and sold them at my friends hair saloon. I am going to make more for summer/fall. I hope to start sewing more too so I can make a lot of purses to sell.
We had our Pickett family reunion in St. George with all the extended family. We hiked Orderville Canyon in Zions. It was amazing and way fun.

This isn't thee family picture but it is one of them. We took family pictures with Matt's family. It is so much fun to see how fast it is growing.

nickle cade

Last night we went to Nickle Cade with Bryce and Cassandra. Matt and I had never been there. We had a blast playing so many games for only a nickle.
See how happy we are. I already consider Cassandra as my cousin but it won't be official until they get married in October and I can't wait.
Look at all my tickets. I found some little boy to give them to though because Im sweet like that. Oh and after about five trys I did knock all the clowns teeth out, go me.
Matt and I were shooting sharks and we got pretty far but my fingers started to hurt. I guess I need to work on their stamina. And of course there is Matt, it isn't possible for him to be normal. But he makes me laugh. Cassandra and I played dance dance and it didn't go so well for me I got zero percent on easy so yea I don't dance.

Bring on the horse races. This was the best. You create a horse to race and you train it and feed it and then race it. It makes you a card so you just bring it back the next time you come and race other peoples horses. It was sweet. There was one out of order or else Matt could have played too. I am now a proud owner of a horse on sega named Lynny. My horse has some trainning to do before he can win 1st place though.

random this in april/may

We finally made it to the Draper Temple. After seeing it everyday on my way to work we made it. I even went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple before this and that was built after. We are so lucky to have so many temples to choose from. We love going to them and they are all so beautiful inside. Afterwards Mike and us went out to eat at Neil's (a fish place), that place is good. We went right before they closed and so they were cleaning up and I had to go and dump my whole drink on the floor and ice went everywhere. oops! my bad.
This is me watching it snow out my window in the spring of May. When other people are probably outside have bbq's and running about in the sun. :( (haha I was trying to look sad but I just look so serious and in deep thought.)

Even the horse in my backyard looks sad with his had down. And I know this horse is a boy don't ask me how, lets just say that he isn't afraid of PDA. Come on horse get a BARN.

It did look pretty after the snow went away though.
